UV-5R in Lewiston

Hello

I am programming a UV-5R here in Florida for a friend from Lewiston. For receive only during emergencies.

Are there any CERT frequencies in the area and also any Ares/Races Amateur repeaters? Any suggestions for other interesting frequencies that the UV-5R covers?

Most public service in Idaho is digital either 700 or 800 mHz. However a list of amateur freq. is available at www.artscipub.com/repeater and that site will tell location of repeater and any special uses such as ARES or weather links to NOAA. As close as he is to Washington don't forget to include Washington state.

In the Lewiston area, public safety is still on uhf/vhf, with the exception of the state police who are on both 700 MHz and Uhf.
