Came back to scanning after 20 years. I have a Pro-106 and the 20 V-folders are empty. How do I put in the factory loaded info back into these 20 folders? Seems Radio Shack doesn't have the answers. No support on their website either. Thanks for any help.

I know of 2 ways:

1) use win500 virtual scanner you can also get the factory V-Scanner data from starsoft I have never used it but there are instructions in the win500 folder

2) load each V folder into scanner memory 1 by then save to the appropriate location

Are you planning to put this radio up for sale? Otherwise, what is the purpose of putting in a bunch of V-Folders in for areas that your scanner cannot receive?

V-Scanner

I used Win500 with confusion. I purchased ScanControl Pro V7.1.0 from ScannerSoft and found I can use it without reading the instructions! It has a cool battery level indicator in the software panel. It's a bit expensive but it did what I wanted to do and it was easy to use.

V-Scanner

I'm new to digital scanners. It's for practice. The scanner was empty when I received it. it's not for sale, it's a beauty!
