Mine was updated with the greatest of ease but here's my problem:

Here in Illinois: I checked mine and on Custom Search with 700Mhz and CC Only set, site 101 (DuPage) is tracking everything perfect. Audio and all. Now, the Will County site (113) doesn't do anything. It does stop on the TG and displays the TGs but no audio at all or extremely garbled. Same thing with the same system programmed in the 396 already and just scanning with CC only and CC only off......and one 700Mhz P25 simulcast site just makes popping noises when squelch is supposed to be broken and then the TG is displayed on the screen with no audio at all. Once in a while a TG will sneak in and work but garbled and choppy. I'm just sitting here shaking my head.

Above post moved to its own thread. Please don't hijack another person's thread; you certainly have been a member long enough to know that.

You are correct Lou. Thank you. I'm sorry for posting without thinking.

Update. I had received a number of e mails from local users who have not done the new firmware yet but read items in various locales regarding some new update issues. My CC in custom search works great compared to hearing others are having issues. I also took a problem I had with a 700Mhz simulcast site P25 trunked Motorola system and set the P25 to default 8, Digi response rate +1 and gain +5 and P25 wait time of 800ms.......and there has been some decent improvement. Still getting LOUD popping sound at the front end of what should be a transmission. TG displays but no audio when that pop sound occurs. Side by side with the GRE500 the transmissions are clear. However, I am not counting just plain old bad transmissions that jazz up both scanners. I am sure this has a lot to do with the actual multi path nature of these simulcast sites but, isn't there anything that can be done...short of going back to 2.0 land?...........
