Hey folks,
The following was discovered during the V8 practice day on Friday May 17 2013 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, USA. Since the frequencies are pretty much the same as have been used in past races in Australia (most notably at Bathurst) I figured they were worth posting/confirming.

Code:
Display Frequency	Tone
1 Red Bull	453.47500	123.0Hz
888 Red Bull	456.75000	71.9Hz
2 HRT 450.45000	162.2Hz
22 HRT 450.20000	103.5Hz
6 Trading Post	465.70000	74.4Hz
7 Jack Daniel	453.43750	156.7Hz
15 Jack Daniel	467.81250	131.8Hz
8 BOC 453.08750	77.0Hz
9 SP Tools	456.16250	DCS 205
12 Wilson	456.97500	DCS 466
17 Wilson	455.35000	SEARCH
21 Wilson	456.21250	123.0Hz
14 Lockwood	456.92500	DCS 731
18 Jeld-Wen	457.17500	SEARCH
19 Tekno	477.47500	165.5Hz
97 Tekno	472.27500	123.0Hz
30 iSelect	457.50000	DCS 065
33 Fujitsu	455.80000	82.5Hz
34 Fujitsu	456.10000	118.8Hz
47 HeavyHaul	471.65000	146.2Hz
49 VIP Petfood	455.05000	SEARCH
51 PepsiMax	455.47500	SEARCH
55 Bottle-O	464.86250	DCS 754
66 Stanley	450.02500	179.9Hz

Notes:
- "21 - Wilson Security" might actually be Lockwood. I heard someone calling for Fabian on the channel marked '21' at one point in the day.
- I posted SuperCheap Auto (#66) as "Stanley" because that's what they're running for livery this weekend, to appeal to American audiences.
- the frequency I show for 888 was listed on BathurstScan as being for #11 Fair Dinkum Sheds for the 2012 race on the mountain. I classified it as Lowndes' radio because he was coming out of pit lane when someone on that radio said "you're clear right up to ____" and the mentioned name was a driver just coming onto the front straight. The frequency listed on BathurstScan for 888 for 2012 had no activity today.
- I don't know who's using the frequency labeled as '30 iSelect'. That car/sponsor is not present.

You'll notice I don't have either of the Norton 360 cars nor Scott Pye nor Dean Fiore's frequencies. I tried to do searches and close call and came up dry. Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow.

Race control was on the "usual" V8 frequency: 477.7, tone 141.3 Hz, including Tim (Race Control), the pit lane controllers, safety car, course car, and I believe the COTA safety trucks as well.

If anyone is at the track this weekend and in stand #7 at Turn 1, look for the guy with the red backpack and blue Toronto Blue Jays baseball hat, and come say hi. :)

I've just spotted this thread.

In my experience while the frequencies sometimes vary between races, the CTCSS/DCS tones don't change. very often On that basis you should find the following cars use the following tones:

Car Tone
1 D205
2 162.2
3 D226
4 127.3
5 D152
6 D631
7 156.7
8 77.0
9 94.8
12 ???
14 123.0
15 131.8
17 D116
18 D412
19 255.7
21 ???
22 103.5
30 ???
33 82.5
34 118.8 ?
36 71.9 ?
47 146.2
49 ???
51 ???
55 D754
66 179.9
80 D125
88 D131
97 136.5
360 110.9
888 D065

That being the case, I think you might find:

Car 1 is 456.1625 D205 (used Perth 2013)
Car 14 is indeed more likely to be 456.2125 123.0 (used Perth 2013)
Car 888 is 457.500 D065 (used Perth 2013)

The following freqs were used in Melbourne/Perth 2013 for those cars not listed if they help:
3 453.2125 or 454.7000 D266
4 469.6125 127.3
5 453.9625 D152
6 454.9125 or 454.9000 D631
9 469.8250 94.8
12 477.8500 (though your 456.975 D466 looks like it might be spot on)
17 450.4000 or 450.1250 D116
18 453.6000 or 455.0250 D412
19 454.4000 or 477.4750 255.7
21 475.0500 or 454.4125
36 456.7500 or 456.7250 71.9 ?
80 457.1250 or 468.3625 D125
88 471.9000 or 468.7125 D131
97 471.7750 or 463.8250 136.5
360 454.9250 or 456.2250 110.9

HTH,

Jim

All of the above confirmed today.

36 456.7500 or 456.7250 71.9

Also confirmed (456.75).

I'll work on the others tomorrow even though it's the end of the weekend.

FYI you mention tone 255.7 for #19. I think that's 225.7 - I don't think 255.7 is a valid tone, but 225.7 is. I'll presume I'll find out in the morning.

Thanks immensely for your help!

Yes sorry, my bad. It should of course have been 225.7Hz.

You were asking about Nexedge radios being used in analogue mode....this is quite common in motorsport: MRTC - an english company that provides to most motorsport series across the world such as the V8 teams like Red Bull - are quickly moving their 'standard' product from analogue TK2140s to Nexedge NX200s. I'd say about 2/3 of their customers currently use them in analogue mode, though that's increasing.

If you do get to compile a final list of V8 freqs by the end of the weekend then I'd sure appreciate a copy.

Jim

Well, that was a hell of a weekend. I wish there was a bit more variety in winning though - I got put off World Rally Championship by Loeb winning all the time, and I'm not eager to see Whincup walk away with it all the time. On the other hand, I was present at Bathurst in 2010 to see Fabian Coulthard's roll and thought he'd cashed in his chips then, so it was good to see him get a win today.

The attached file is a FreeSCAN file, zipped up, and has all the stuff I encountered over the weekend. Consider all the ones without "P" or "A" (Primary or Alternate) after the number to be confirmed, and all the "P"s confirmed, with the exceptions below.

51 was not confirmed - no audio at all there. The huge amount of MotoTRBO and NXDN DMR in the area - from COTA and otherwise - may have been washing out my ability to discover certain frequencies.

Somebody was on the "6 PepsiMax" frequency I have listed (465.7 t74.4), but 6P was indeed in use by Davison and crew. Same with "17 Wilson" and "18 Jeld-Wen", and "19 Tekno". That last one may have been 66 as I got no audio from the frequency I have stored for that car. Lastly, 49 VIP Pet Foods was silent and remained undiscovered.

Race Management was on the frequency in my file, and the background of the television broadcast including the comms from the director in the truck was also available. Those of you in Australia might snicker at my having put the TV frequencies in group 7. :)
