Each zone should be a separate system, but don't expect to hear much as the VA STARS isn't going to be complete until approximately 2009...:(

Division 1 is now expected to be operational in December 2005, 6 months ahead of the original schedule. All other divisions stayed the same though.

Welcome to forum.

Do you hear any CC's on either zone yet?

I scanned the frequencies listed in the RR Database today for STARS (as i do periodically), and still I don't hear a control channel. I also noticed today that a brand new tower was put up in Hanover County, just about a mile or two from the interstate. Could this be a STARS repeater?

I heard some APCO-25 traffic today on a frequency in the 159MHz range. I don't remember the exact frequency. But I could not find a control channel anywhere nearby. I was receiving the signal very well. They said something about being on the interstate near the town. Maybe Ashland?

STARS Frequencies/Zones

You can disregard the RR STARS listed frequencies/zones relationships. It is not accurate for Richmond, Division 1. Until a STARS division/zone installation is completed only those monitored/ confirmed frequencies/zones will be accurate. STARS testing in Richmond Division 1 is not using 1 for 1 previously published frequencies/zones.
