From Vail Daily:
VAIL, Colorado - One person is dead and two people have been injured in a shooting Saturday night at the Sandbar in West Vail, Vail Police Chief Dwight Henniger said. One person is in custody. The suspect is described as a Vail Valley man, but his name has not been released. Neither the identity of the person killed nor the names of the injured have been released. Police received the emergency call around 7:30 p.m., Saturday. Witnesses said a man was being escorted out of the bar when he fired several shots. He then re-entered the bar and fired several more, witnesses said. Witnesses reported hearing about 10 shots total. Henniger said police do not know what the motive in the shooting is. Nancy Lewis, of Vail, who was sitting with her husband, Richard, in the bar, said she saw a man being escorted out of the bar and speaking incoherently. "He stepped back back and pulled the gun out," she said. "The first shot hit (someone) in the arm. We ran out the back but other people were stuck inside."Richard Lewis said he thinks the gun was an automatic pistol. Witnesses had gathered at McDonald's and in front of Safeway Saturday night. Any witnesses to the shooting are asked to call Vail police at 479-2201.
Additional from CBS4: We talked with a person inside the McDonalds next door who said she heard about 10 shots. Police ordered her to lock the doors of the restaurant and only around 9PM was told that she could let people out of the store. She describes "SWAT teams" still running around the area...
