This is a splitter to use the car radio antenna for scanner use also. Has anyone tried it? If it does work it would be pretty stealth. I mainly listen in the 800 MHz range. The claim is that this will work wide band. Makes me wonder how it works with a fixed length car radio antenna. The old ones that were manually extended may be a better choice to use with it. http://www.rffun.com/catalog/scanants/4534.html

"Old school"

They don't work well, and are probably impossible to even use with most of todays later model cars, due to modular radio sockets that won't allow access to the antenna connection on the back of the radio.

Thank You MacombMonitor, I never had a sanner hooked up mobile before , but tomorrow it becomes legal in Michigan. I ordered the VALOR PMM3B after reading all the good reviews. I usually listen to the Apco 25 system in the 800MHz range so it should work out well. Hopefully the law men will be aware of the change in the law.

You're welcome. The PMM3B should work very well for you! Might be a good idea to print out a copy of the new scanner law, and keep it in your glove box.
