A train has derailed in Van Buren Township, MI. Six cars in total. What could be causing this to happen out in the middle of nowhere?

Could be a multitude of reasons; broken-defective equipment on the cars, an unnoticed track defect resulting in a broken rail, if it had been raining a washout...

Michigan has not had a lot of rain in recent months. The ground should be pretty hard if not frozen. I'm hoping these recent train derailments aren't some kind of sabatouge to further disrupt things.
