VB FIre, Orion Smart Traffic

Does anyone know how Va. Beach is contacting Smart Traffic since the move to Orion.

I did not see it on the Orion page.

Smart traffic

Smart traffic is contacted via Chesapeake's trunked system they simply switch to the smart traffic tac which is in their radios. You will need to put the Chesapeake system in your radio and enter talkgroup 27760 and should be able to monitor all the cities contact smart traffic.

speaking about Smart Traffic, does Portsmouth even use that for accidents, wouldn't think they would, just wondering?

Smart traffic

No Portsmouth does not use it for some unknown reason. Double check your CC for Chesapeake then recheck to see if you pick them up.

From Chess. all I was getting was dead air. Reloaded the radio, and Chess. reappeared.

Will wait for an interstate incident to hear.
