VDOT freq?

[CanadianGP]

I'm heading to Martinsville this Friday morning and was wondering anyone had the freq. for the Department of Transport around the Big Walker Mountain and East River Mountain Tunnels. I'm hoping to avoid any long traffic jams in that area.

If you just listen to the state police you should be good to go.
VDOT doesn't talk to much on there freqs.

You could give these people a call and ask what radio stations the truckers use:

I deal with that on a daily basis. I would call the truckstops before I trusted 511. There are too many ways that 511 can lead you astray.

Listening to the truckers on the CB channels is the best way hear about wrecks. They also discuss detours around the mess. Three times now this has saved me from waiting in backups for hours. Once on I95 in Connecticut, once I95 in VA and once I81 near Harrisonburg,VA.
