I stayed at the Marriott in the City of Ventura for the last couple of days and I was receiving CHP Ventura (dispatch and mobiles) on channel T1 of the future CHP 700mhz base frequencies. Could no longer receive it once I hit Santa Paula. Not sure if anyone else is hearing the same thing.

I guessing this is just part of the plan to give portable radios a way to communicate with dispatch without an extender.

I will tell you whats happening. Some CHP offices have a base station radio with the 700 mhz radio extender frequencies. Once you leave the CHP office area then it drops

I get the 700s in Oxnard a lot when a Unit is at the top of the grade at the scales, covers a lot of Camarillo and Oxnard.
