Hello everyone, looking to see if anyone who has a lot more experience than me can tell me if anything’s changed with their licensing? They run NXDN, with what used to be RAN 5. But at some point over the past few months they went silent. The frequency listed on RR is accurate, but it seems as if the RAN code has changed, or they went encrypted (which really does not make sense to me as a former dispatcher of their’s and knowing how things run.) I’ve set my radio to run through 20 different RAN codes (1-20) but nothing is “breaking the squelch.” And my former coworker does not know what was changed, if anything, as we were never told what had been done. Just curious if anyone can help. Thanks!

Last time I was up there and heard them wasn't too long ago, maybe 2 months? Make sure you're scanner is set to 12.5 khz, or narrow band and not 6.25 khz. Also ran code isn't really needed since it's not like it blocks stray RF like a PL or DPL code will.

Copy, that’s about the last time I’ve heard them. I do not have a scanner, I have a Kenwood NX-5700. I have RAN zero (no RAN) through RAN 20 programmed into it as a test, I can clearly see the frequency is in use but my radio is silent. Oh well, I’ll figure it out eventually, lol.

Optional signaling programmed correct? Make sure it's set to OR, not AND. Can't think of anything else really that it can be. Most of my experience is first gen NX radios and NX1000s
