• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a VX-3200V and everything works great (even into the HAM portion) except one thing; no transmit audio. I have great receive, full power transmit, but no audio. Does anyone know where I might find a service manual and/or a possible reason as to why I have no audio (known problem). The mic is good as I tested it on another radio....FTL-7011. I am assuming they use the same 8-pin mic.

Do you have a general coverage reciever or normal scanner or a service montior that you can input one of the frequency's from the Vertex into to listen too? If you do, then do so and transmite from the vertex and see if you trully are NOT transmiting audio.

If the radio Is tranmitting audio, then the channel information in the Vertex maybe wrong.

If you have the programing software, there's a setting that switches the mic audio vs. the db-9 connector in the rear. That connector is sometimes used for other options (repeater; remote mics, etc). That should fix it. If you can't find it, message me, and I'll check my software. I just can't remember where it is in the software off the top of my head....

I have a bunch of these and got caught with this one before.

Good luck

need further

I do have a service monitor and yes the TX power is there, but no mic audio. Rozie45 I looked through the menus in the software but could not find an audio route setting. I found plenty of other stuff I was looking for. It seems the function ribbon would hold the answer, but nothing found. If you happen to come up with anything let me know.

Thanks

Didn't fix it

Well the none was already selected for that menu. I actually like that software as it is pretty intuitive. Any other areas for me to look??
