Currently, I am hearing Bell Fleetnet sites from all over Zone 1, all the way up into Toronto, down here in Michigan. Likewise, UHF is also open as well.
Ah crap, 2 nights in a row I missed good openings.
What are you using to DX these sites? I have a Comet GP-6 up about 25' but I live in one of the highest sections of Kitchener. Seems most of my DX usualy comes from WNY and Northern PA, I would like to snag some from down your way some day.
Forgot to add, antenna is fed with 75' of LMR-400 with a BC796D attached at the other end. Been getting hammered with hydro noise lately too but just on VHF between 154-160mhz which is strange.
Early this morning I was getting UHF signals coming from the east
(Montreal) area from a 150-200km distance, and some enhancement
on VHF. I'm able to decode a couple of Motorola trunked systems with
fair regularity around this time of year, even into september.
Around the supper hour , I had my BC245XLT with me while BBQ-ing and heard a fire dispatch on 424.225. That's Buffalo Fire Dispatch and I'm in NW Toronto !
