U.S. Marines operate a Very Small Aperture Terminal in support of exercise Cobra Gold 19 in Phra Maha Jetsadaratchao Camp, U-Tapao, Thailand, Feb. 2, 2019. The VSAT is a secured satellite that allows Marines and other joint services to transfer data and communicate during the exercise. CG19 is the largest Theater Security Cooperation exercise in the Indo-Pacific region and is an integral part of the U.S. Commitment to strengthen engagement in the region. Marines operating the VSAT are with Marine Wing Communication Squadron 18.

DVB-S2 with control plane encryption, additional Type 1 CCI crypto for the APDU. . . . still have to deal with rain fade and stupid ENG crews lighting up the transponders accidentally. At least now the uplinks all have ID embedded so you can ascertain the pinhead who knocked you terminals offline.
