The tropo and skip this morning (monday morning) has been so strong, that my local cable tv company is having 2 stations picket fencing with one another, the far away station would take over the local tv station, it was changing PBS to an NBC station and coming in clear and then fading, blending , then clear again. Very strong conditions. These are stations that are 300 miles away. Haven't seen this for a long time. I am near Kingston, Ontario and PBS watertown, ny (ch18) was displaying Elmira, NY (ch18) NBC.

I'm here a lot
Hook up your external scanner antenna to your TV and watch channels 2 , 3 or 4 when tropo is strong
on your radio.
I've "watched" (I use the term loosely because the signal fades) TV from Florida ,Alabama , Texas
and Oklahoma here in Toronto when conditions are right.

I use this link to try and confirm what I am watching , have a look:

I always got great skip on my scanner in spring/fall in the 39.00 up to 44.00 mgz band. I always got state troopers from all over the southern U.S. and California. It was fun to listen into for something different.

Generally speaking any dx on channels 2,3 or 4 is sporadic E and not so much tropo. I remember way back in the day when OPP was on low band I'd hear Missouri State Police interfering with them on occasion.

There was one morning a few weeks ago where I could barely hear the 2m repeater I usually use on my commute because of interference from another repeater in NY state. Unfortunately that one didn't have PL on the input so every transmission on my end brought up BOTH machines!
