On Saturday, November 11, 2017 the Chelsea Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at the War Memorial at Ninth Avenue and 27th Street in Manhattan, New York City. The ceremony was re-initiated four years ago after a hiatus of about half-a-century and has received support from a wide swath of the community. New York State Senator Brad Hoylman annually shows his community spirit and generosity by providing the wreath which shall be placed at the Doughboy Statue on the 99th Anniversary of the Armistice. Besides the Senator’s participation, the NYPD 10th Precinct Auxiliary Unit, elements of FDNY’s Seventh Battalion, EMS Station Seven, members of the Fr. Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance Team, the London Terrace Tenants Association, various houses of worship, the Hudson Guild and Chelsea Square Restaurant are expected to participate. Last year nearly 100 Chelsea residents, including veterans and their families and friends witnessed the ceremony.

We would welcome your coverage of the event and would appreciate if you would announce it in advance of the date. Below is a flyer with further details.
