Can I get a VHF 156.0000 MHZ is about center commerical antenna and use it on my RS Pro-106?

I listen to mostly VHF trunked radio. My 106 is having some issues in ROAM, STAT, OFF. I was thinking that maybe a commerical radio VHF for that band?

Your thoughts?

Or should I just order a VHF scanner antenna?

I also listen to Civil air and MIL-air. From time to time.

Thanks guys!

Get a good VHF antenna for it. I ordered an antenna for my BC250D that is a VHF, that covers pretty much everything i listen to on a regular basis here. I don't need UHF or a wideband antenna, so i might as well get something made for the range i listen to the most.

Just have your stock antenna on hand in case you want to snoop around a bit on other bands. I would optimize the antenna for the band your listening too most. And you can get a better antenna for the Mil/Air frequencies as well, have an antenna for each use, its not that hard to swap em out when you need to!

VHF only duckies come in all flavors so commercial or scanner makes little to no difference. For what it's worth I couldn't get one to fit the unusual mount on my old Sonar marine HT so I used a VHF scanner duck from Rat Shack. Guess what, it works flawlessly.

Errr... Scott, what's growing, tower seeds? Countless radios can be a problem, have you considered putting caps over the connectors or keeping them in separate cages? They get pregnant if you don't take precautions.

Figure out the center of the frequencies you want to listen to and go to smileyantenna and get a 5/8 slim duck cut for that frequency. They work really well.

My collection is always growing! Hmm, if only they reproduced, i would be crossing my Yaesu's with my Uniden's in hope of having a Yaesu with P25 in it... lol
