Is anyone aware if Cary has stopped broadcasting on the VHF Fire (154.235)? I know they were removing the water tower on Killdaire Farm Rd, and I assume the antenna was in the array that was on the top. I know they moved to 800mhz years ago, but the VHF patch had been there until recently (i think recently). I enjoy having all the VHF fire/ems dispatch on my "secondary" scanner, and Wake EMS works fine on VHF, as does Chatham, and Durham. I just wonder if all the fire in the area have finally phased out the VHF patches.

Yep...Cary Fire is still dispatched out on Cary's 800Mhz system only (no VHF) but Cary EMS is now dispatched out with pretty much every other EMS unit in Wake County on VIPER....listen for the 500 EMS units...you can still hear the silmulcast of Raleigh/Wake EMS (including Cary) on 156.225Mhz...

The old KBK-537 154.235 repeater is still on the air but not being used. I've had it in my PRO-2004 since the '90s and once in awhile I hear it kerchunked.
