This morning I was bored and stuck VHF Low band into my computer. Well I got a hit on 36.975, sounded like
a police dispatcher. Reminded me of my days working avionics in Hueys back in the sixties. About sundown
vhf low skip would start, and I would listen to California state troopers for an hour or so. RR database doesn't have
36.975 for anybody. Anywho just wondered if any of yall know who this can be. Probably skip to SE Alabama from
somewhere. I'm gonna scan CB and see if skip is running. Take care.........

Doesn't look like a valid frequency.

Low band is most likely 20 KHz channel spacing. Try 36.980 and this correct frequency or did you miss type it. Ranges in 33, 39, 42 and 44 MHz were popular.

Found out what it is. Its a birdie from the Alabama State Trooper site. Its pumping out lots of power and the SDR
software and SDR dongle lets it through. 'MyKola' sdr software lets it get through, SDR# doesn't. Sorry for my confusion.
Thought I had found something, o well, maybe tomorrow.

Military radios have 25KHz increments and would also have a loud 150Hz PL tone. And military mics/handsets sound a bit more like an aircraft radio than a cop radio.
