Hi,

How well does the 436HP generally handle weaker VHF signals in an area prone to severe intermod from multiple sources when it's connected to an external antenna? I live in VHF Hi territory and was wondering about others' experiences.

Thanks.

I dont know about intermod, but using it mobile in a downtown area that uses VHF-Hi repeaters, I get great reception, as well as picking up fire dept dispatch repeaters about 40 miles away using a mobile rooftop antenna, without any noticeable interference from other nearby transmitters.

I have experienced intermod on two railroad frequencies from a nearby NOAA transmitter. I also heard other active frequencies mixed with this frequency as well. You can however shift the intermediate frequency using the IFX function that may solve the problem.

The x36 receivers appear to be more sensitive than the x96 and x46 series scanners.
