VPD no longer coming in programmed as shown in Radio Reference. I assume they've gone digital but can't find any updated info. Any help is appreciated.

I was hearing them fine a couple days ago. I will plug them in tonight and do a search to see what I can find out.

I've had 3 local analog scanner owners contact me over the weekend asking what happened. I've monitored VPD for many years and until last weekend never had an issue hearing them. Now all my WS1065 hears is static when they key a radio.

I'm not from that area so I can't answer anything as to what is being heard. I looked up their FCC license in the ULS system and it shows that on 07/06 they submitted a modification. Among the fields modified was the emission designator, which is now 4K00F1W. That is NXDN according to here: Emission Designator - The RadioReference Wiki

I will check tonight. If they kept the same frequencies I should be able to hear them if they have swapped to NXDN, unless they encrypted.

Remove the PL tone from your frequencies or manually add in the frequencies so to hear what audio it is and compare with the audio sample links below.
License WPQY500 is the one I see has NXDN and P25 digital modes.

NXDN sounds like

P25 sounds like Project 25 (P25) - Signal Identification Wiki

Looks like either way a digital scanner is needed, hopefully using P25 and in the clear as all digital scanners can do that. NXDN comes with TRX1 & 2, Uniden current digital models capable but require a paid upgrade. Also if they use NXDN hopefully its in the clear.

Once found out submit a submission to radiorefernce so it can be updated.

I was referring to KNFR821, but yea... looks like either way it's going to be digital.

KNFR821 is the station I'm talking about. I'll listen to the audio and see what I hear. Thanks

It's defiantly NXDN, I'm listening to it now.
