How do you remove the case from a Bearcat Electra BC101?

I see two plastic caps on the side of the case, should I remove them to access hidden screws?

Something loose inside and I need to remove case to see if it's a loose part (nut/screw/etc).

Also how do I get service info on this scanner? Did Bearcat make a service manual or some aligment instructions?

Thanks.

Well it's been forty or more years since I've opened the case on my BC101, but as I vaguely recall the original radio had two screws (more like bolts) which protrude from the sides. These bolts were used to hold the mobile mounting bracket, but when removed also allowed for the case to be removed.

I don't recall ever seeing a service manual for the thing.

It was a fun radio back in the day!

Look on the bottom of the radio. There's a single screw in the middle of the case on the rear edge. Remove it, and the entire case slides off the chassis in one piece. Make sure there are no screws in the side of the case for the mobile bracket; if present then these should be removed as well.
