Any idea what Hiawatha Ambulance TGID is? I am not finding it and they come to our town quite a bit but have never heard the transmissions.

Interesting, I didn't hear a peep and they just arrived down the street. Only from Call 61 when Benton asked for Hiawatha. Kind of wondering if they get paged like Benton does.

Something I just thought of. I live in coralville so I listen to johnson county alot. I know when they get paged to West branch for a med call, west branch changes to what ever event chan they are as does area ambulance when they are paged to swisher or shueyville. Its a good chance your town changes to linn county fire or Hiawatha changes to a chan for benton county. Might worth watching on your scanner

That's what was weird I only heard it on ISiCS Region 6 Call 61 when Benton asked Linn to page out a Hiawatha. After that I didn't hear anything other than our first responders asking if they could help. I guess it is possible I missed the transmission while it was scanning.

I've noticed while scanning linn county that county does not page hiawatha unless there is a TG that I don't have but they get on Linn county law 1 and tell the deputies they are sending hiawatha to where ever the address is

I've left Linn and Benton Simulcast on ID Search and never come across anything new for Linn. They may just page them or they're encrypted 🤷🏽. This is the stuff that makes the hunt for TGIDs fun

Years ago I was able to use a pager decoder program to see the pages but part of the it's illegal to listen to cellphones also pagers decoding was made illegal.

Poweshiek is currently starting to use SARA and it appears they also page out calls and run the system identical to Benton. Not as familiar with that county so having issues identifying TGIDs.

So is it legal or not??? I've searched for "Is it legal" and don't really find anything except for an antiquated law passed in the 80's, but others that say it's legal to decode the unencrypted traffic, it's just ILLEGAL to use that information.

After the discussions here, it got me interested so I set up a decoder on the 460.2 that was mentioned. It appears to be decoding just fine. I just don't want to be doing something illegal!!!!!

p.s. The POCSAG codes for Linn county are listed on RR wiki and appear to be correct. Why wouold this info be out there if it's illegal???
