Just curious, what is the difference between an EMS Dispatch and a Rescue Dispatch?

In Wake County, they are one in the same. Raleigh Rescomm is also EMS Dispatch 1.
Usually the TC uses Rescomm on 155.280, but you will hear it on VIPER, also. Same TC and same place.

I agree

What needs to happen is the following:

Only NC Database Administrators should be allowed to update information in the North Carolina.

All other outside database administrators should be prohibited from updating anything especially the Viper System.

Just my thoughts

Hearing a little radio testing on VIPER EVNTS HOTEL 1, sounded like Rockingham County DOT calling the STOC (Statewide Transportation Operations Center, Raleigh) Might be one worth listening too, given the weather forecast over the next day or so!

what 13 talk groups were removed from the database?

If I were to guess I would say that someone incorrectly entered 13 TGs in Viper instead of some other system OR someone submitted it wrong and then submitted a new "ticket" or whatever it's called, requested the info not be added. At least that's the way it looks from the log.

Deleted 13 talkgroup(s) kma371 2015-02-15 14:03:23
Imported Talkgroups (13 Imported, 0 Updated) kma371 2015-02-15 14:01:43

The DB admins have this under control I'm sure and do a bang up job with all the info submitted. Even though I'm sure some of the things that submitted are not the greatest info.

Just the one test call from Rockingham county to STOC on VIPER EVT HOTEL 1. With regard to low-band, just hearing some traffic on 47.020 (DIV 7 Greensboro Repeater) as well as truck to truck on 45.760.

TG ID # 38577

Saw TG ID # 38577 on Unitrunker while monitoring the Shepherd Mtn site. It's looks like it's in the Randolph ID block. But nothing stands out in my current records, however I could have overlooked same, Any ideas?

I have TG #38577 as Randleman Fire Dept Tac. I've had some hits on 38500, 38515, & 38586 that I haven't been able to identify.

I received some DOT Low band last night on 47.380 and 47.320. I also got a TG which is in the stokes county block, I believe. It is TG 43014.

Last night was a very good night to be monitoring all the bands.

I was listening to my Low Band portable last night and I was picking up all sorts of stuff.

I was receiving Newton SHP on channel 5 & of course Monroe & Salisbury SHP on Low Band.

I was even receiving DOT on 46.260 Mhz.

I may have even been receiving both Guilford & Richmond Fire on low band

Good call Randy,
I had forgotten all about each fire department getting their own private tac tgs. It'll be similar to the Guilford county departments having their private tac channels.

I can't remember off the top of my head what they are but asheboro and guilrand have their own tacs too so it may be those. I'll check when I get back to my scanner. As far as I know they are the only ones with their own tacs. Everyone else is using the others but have their "own" direct channels (just the same as the standard county directs but with different nac codes)

Everyone was assigned a tac bank to share between a few departments for winterpocalypse but we went back on regular assigned per call tacs today. Predetermined assigned tacs like Guilford sure would be nice and less confusing though.

Thanks cmjones, I have Guil/Rand FD tac as 38596 & Asheboro FD tac as 38613. Unitrunker has only showed a few affiliations to 38500 & 38515, but 38586 showed several encrypted conversations by radios I have labeled as fire radios, was really wondering about that one.
Thanks

I'm not aware of any fire radios that have any encrypted tg's in them unless it's the fire marshals or emergency management. I need to fire up unitrunker and do some logging myself. If you want to pm me the radios id's I'll keep an eye out and see if I can find out anything as well.

38500 Should be Randolph Rescue Dispatch.
38515 Should be Randolph Sheriff Investigations
38586 Should be Seagrove PD TAC.

On the database, 4170 says it is Graham FD TAC1. Is that an error?

Could be that the talkgroup has been reassigned by the local VIPER POC (Point of Contact) to be Graham FD TAC1. :) Remember folks that local VIPER POCs in each county are now responsible for talkgroup usage. It is up to them to let VIPER system admins know what talkgroups and radio IDs are being used.
