I'm seeing an unlisted control channel in Northern Harnett County vicinity. It's 773.08125, and shows up as 001-069 in UniTrunker. Logging mainly SHP and Harnett SO's new VIPER TG's. It's not overwhelmingly strong compared to the Cokesbury Harnett site I normally use.

Chris--Please try to get a complete list of frequencies used at this site and submit to the database.
This obviously appearts to be one of the new Harnett Co Sites.
Thanks!

I sent it in. Here are the frequencies logged.

Site 001-069, BEE00-1FC

LCN Freq
01-1204 769.53125
01-1432 770.95625
01-1452 771.08125
01-1512 771.45625
01-1552 771.70625
01-1600 772.00625
01-1644 772.28125 backup control
01-1772 773.08125 Primary control

Several hundred hits from NCSHP, State Capital PD, Harnett Co SO, etc. logged, among others.

Not sure of the coordinates, or the actual county as of yet. Nothing in the FCC database.

Going to drive around for a bit this afternoon and see if I can narrow down the tower.

Forsyth county has dedicated talkgroups for Viper as well.

David

If I'm not mistaken, in the beginnings of VIPER, all 100 counties were assigned at least one talkgroup per agency. But as previously stated Forysth has its on system so any Forsyth County / Winston Salem usage would be sporadic at best.

In the spirit of the scanning hobby, I'd suggest running a decoder program like unitrunker or trunk88, while monitoring either the Saurtown, WSSU, or Midway VIPER sites.

And as always your mileage may vary!

Looks like it might be in Coats / Angier area.

I was looking over the database and noticed the following:

There are 100 NC Counties and every county is supposed to have a designated DPRR Talkgroup.

The data base is only showing 90 DPRR Talkgroup Id's.

Just curious to see if some of the counties might be sharing talkgroups.

I know from the old legacy 3600 Baud system all the talkgroups were listed and the county the talkgroup was assigned too.

Just an observation

NCDOC is going to be active all day with an exercise today not sure what exactly they are doing but i just caught check-ins from all the prisons across the state. NC DOC SW 2 is what should be active UPDATE: this may possibly be DOT not doc but its the emergency management doing the testing but they are broadcasting the broadcast across doc sw 2 51680 but the operations will be on doc or dot 1 couldn't catch that. but if its dot why would they be broadcasting the call across doc 2 lol

Does anyone know the identity of TG:52024? RIDs:2062563/2062561 were heard using it this morning.

Should be Legislative PD in Downtown Raleigh.
52024= NCLEGPD1
52025= NCLEGPD2

Will add them to the database later today.

New Moore County CC?

Tonight while doing a frequency scan I picked up a strong control channel here in Southern Pines: frequency is 774.184375. I did an FCC database search and I can't find it listed in the FCC database.

I'm new at frequency hunting but when I put it in my PRO-106 with a wildcard setting I'm getting a fair amount of Moore County public safety traffic. I don't know what a lot of the information is that comes up on the search but I'm getting the following readout: Sys 1FC N1F0 W:BE000 as well as R001 S074.

I'm happy to submit it, but I'd like to get a confirmation from someone in the area if possible, before I send it in.

Thanks.

Could it be this?

From the RR database -
1 (1) 054 (36) Southern Pines Moore 769.78125 771.38125 771.63125 772.23125 772.85625 774.18125c

The control channel is VERY close to that frequency.

Draf,

I'm a bit too new at this to have learned all the new designators, frequency steps, etc. I'm equally unsure of the nuances of scanner front ends. It very well could be that my scanner front-end receive is so broad as to hear both of those frequencies equally well, and not appear a little bit "off" on the one. As I watch the display I do see during voice reception the frequencies you list above for the .18125 cc, so it would make sense I'm getting some sort of bleed-over. Hence why I was hoping for a comment or two rather than submit immediately. Many thanks for the quick reply.

Does anybody have the frequencies for Hazel Top Mountain in Haywood County.

I know the site is active, but there is no frequency data available.

If not then what are the primary and secondary control channels.

The old license was WQTA-420 but that license was cancelled

I was wanting to program in the old BCD396T scanner

Thanks

David
