Getting a few Troop G Asheville TGs off the Greenville tower. Guess someone is over this way with their radio or car.

There is a new encrypted TG 37513 that seems to pop up mainly afternoon and night. It's between the Pitt County Sheriff TGs so I assume it's them.

Been hearing the SHP microwave techs also on the NCSHP Training Center Viper Tower, but all traffic was scrambled

I've gotten that 37522 as well. One night, I heard ECU PD on the dispatch TG saying to switch to channel 2, and then 37522 started appearing (but encrypted). Nothing else new came over VIPER. Their main TG is 52594 though so I'm not sure that it's them.

edit: I have also gotten 37523 a few times. It is in the clear but the transmissions were so short I could not make out what they were talking about.

Mount Pisgah site

Now, I have learned that almost always when I find something that does not make sense to me, there is an explanation that I was not aware of, this is likely the story with a Mount Pisgah site in Haywood County. I'm going to toss the grenade in anyway and see if I catch my own shrapnel.....
N.C.S.P. has a Mount Pisgah site, WQTA919. It is licensed to them, all of the emissions designators match other sites. I cannot locate a similar site by possibly a different name on the VIPER page. I just located the site on an old list I have, and havn't yet plugged in the frequencies to test it.
Okay, now I look up to see if Wiley E. is getting ready to drop the ACME anvil on my head.. Is this a missed site, or is there an explanation I missed? Thanks all

Can you verify tower freqs and Control Channel please?
I added it to the database as it should be Zone 2, Site 66.

Mount Pisgah site

The tower frequencies are 851.2625 851.7125 852.6875 852.9625 853.7125. I have been running a BCD 536 discovery search, but just for the last six minutes. So far, where I am located, I'm not getting any control channel lock.... I'm just too far away in these mountains. I see occasionally there are a few active members around Haywood County, they will have a better shot at it than me. Thanks for the reply, I do appreciate it, take care

I will be back in the area toward the end of next month.
I'm sure someone will respond before then, but I'll see what I can uncover when I'm in the neighborhood again.

I'm betting if you can't hear the site from around Asheville....it's probably not there.... Pisgah overlooks a vast area and 800 MHz doesn't do THAT poorly in the mountains.

I would say you all are correct, (as usual), based on similar sites regarding distance and elevation. It should be there for me. Thanks again

What kind of control channel are you getting for Mt. Pisgah?

There is a Viper License and frequencies for Mt. Pisgah.

Mount Pisgah site

I'm not receiving any kind of a control channel indicator, using my BCD536 discovery search. Based on how close Pisgah is, if the site was running, I should be pulling it in. So, for whatever the reason may be, it is down, most likely. If someone within eyesight of Pisgah can run a wildcard or Discovery search, that will tell us for sure.. take care

Wine Springs Site

I monitor the four sites in Macon County on a regular basis. However, lately the Wine Springs site seems to be off the air. I have locked out all other sites and listened only to Wine Springs, I have checked to make sure I have the correct frequencies for the control channels and still - NOTHING. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a new CC that I'm overlooking?
