Taylors Bridge

The VIPER database for the Taylors Bridge Site (SID 0365) in Sampson County only lists a Control Channel and an Alternate Control Channel. The following are five additional frequencies that are listed on FCC license WQCS267:
851.18750
851.48750
851.90000
852.55000
852.85000
I have verified that four of these five are being used at this site.

I have submitted this info to RR.

You only need the CC to pick up the tower signal. It is also good to put in the alternate just in case that the main goes down

HYCO LAKE (Person Co) tower

Just wondering if anyone had any info for the new Person County VIPER tower located near Hyco lake?

According to Viper Waveguide it became the 212th site on March 24th.
VIPER Waveguide: March 2016

I saw over the weekend the tower was up. Should help coverage in North West Person county as well as eastern Caswell county. Semora and Milton coverage should be much improved.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks. I was aware of that but if you take a look at the VIPER database, the vast majority of sites have not only the Control Channel and the Alternate Channel but also the other frequencies that are licensed to that site. I just recently submitted info on the Penderlea site where the CC changed to one of the other frequencies listed in the database that was not listed as the Alternate Control Channel so in some cases it helps to know what all the frequencies are that are listed on the FCC license.

I'm getting a control channel on 774.0437 that's not listed in the RRDB or FCC DB. I put it on ID scan and so far picked up voice traffic for Farmville PD and Pitt County SO. It's a VIPER CC but no clue which site. Farmville/WUNK tower carries lots of Greenville PD traffic, and I'm not hearing any of that here.

I got the same yesterday but I think the frequency is 774.04375 (my scanner only shows .0437) which also is not in the RRDB or on the FCC site.
It showed a VIPER site of 0373 which is also not in the RRDB which ends at 0372.

And you are 100% sure that it has the 1FC VIPER sys ID tied to the freq and not the Pitt County 700Mhz Phase 2 system?

I'm not sure how to tell the system ID, but I live within sight of the Pitt County tower and this is a very weak signal. Don't think it's coming from them.

The talkgroups I'm getting are VIPER TGs.

I am almost positive it showed 01FC as the SID. I have a BCD396XT which is not Phase 2 capable so I assume I would not be seeing it as a CC with the site as 0373??? I only received it for a few minutes and am not getting it today. In any event, 774.04375 is not listed to Pitt County on licenses WQPS540 and WQPS541 and is not listed for any county in NC.

Between your info and mine I think it's got to be VIPER. I have never once heard PCSO use the Pitt County System. Only fire and EMS are on the Pitt Phase II system.

I've had it parked on the scanner for 30 minutes or so this morning and not heard a single transmission, but the control channel is still broadcasting.

edit: just got Pitt County Sheriff again on their VIPER TG #. I just turned off all my avoids to see what else is coming through.

I left the scanner in discovery mode for about half an hour. Got a few hits on Pitt County SO and one hit on Greene County SO. It's not carrying all the traffic from either department though. Farmville/WUNK site has much more traffic from both departments.

I wonder if it may be a mobile VIPER site/van that the techs use to test field strength throughout the state. The 700 MHz Band Plan in Wiki lists 774.04375 as a "State License" frequency:

"The state license is a geographic area license based on state boundaries, which differs from traditional site-based public safety licensing."

Possibly so. I can't work out where there would be a tower needed that those departments would hit when the Farmville site is right there.

If it's still on the air this evening I may drive around a bit to see if I can locate anything.

I tried but apparently the BCD436HP isn't compatible? Never used Unitrunker before I tried it today.

Try analyze on the site.
Create a new Favorites list and call it whatever you want. Create a P25 system and site within that favorites list that have the 774.04375Mhz Control Channel Freq.
On the 436HP while you are scanning the new FL, System and site press Menu then Analyze->System Status->Select VIPER->Select Site. Then you will see a screen like the following:
