Went down to the Norfolk area on Thursday. Took a bike ride on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and let the TRX-1 record:
461.2375 [d172] - strong near 26th St.
467.7125 [d465] - strong toward south end
464.550 [123.0] - construction crane (26th & Atlantic NE corner)
462.8875 [d025] - strong toward south end
462.575 [d654] - strong toward south end
464.550 [67.0] - mention of a houseman - south end of boardwalk
461.0875 - voice inversion in use
461.2125 [d532] - washing exposed aggregate
462.650 [CSQ] - strong toward north end of boardwalk
467.7625 [d023] - mention of a parking lot - north end of boardwalk
452.975 [DMR] c10s1g3001 - security at Tidewater Comm College - mention of Blackwater Bldg
Am curious about the Beach Ambassadors with what look like UHF radios. Any idea what they're using? A commercial trunk, maybe?
In Portsmouth, lots of DMR on 457.525-457.600. Am pretty sure that the Navy accounts for some of it, but most now involves thick accents, and probably associated with Norwegian Cruise Line ships Encore, Spirit and Bliss - which are sitting out the pandemic at Portsmouth Marine Terminal. Color codes 12, 13, & 14 heard. TG is usually #1
Would also be curious to know if there are any particular days or times to check out F-18 activity at Fentress. On Thursday, I picked up activity around 10am, and 5:30-6:30p.
