• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I will be visiting Phoenix in July and thought I would start programming for the trip. When I looked at the titles of the sites, I got a little confused. If i want to listen to police, do I have to be listening to simulcast A? Do Phoenix PD radios only affiliate with simulcast A? I'm sorry if my question is a little stupid, but I am pretty new to scanning and this website.
Thanks,

Jim

Yes, you are correct, all of the Phoenix PD radios work off of Simulcast A. On Simulcast B,C and so on, you will either hear units that are roaming, or just some channels (ex: A Deck 4 and 8, but not 5 or 7). I would recomend to just program Simulcast A Control channels and you should be fine.
