I am a Paramedic from NC, I will be covering an event in Scottsdale for a week arriving tomorrow. I am programming a Unicationn G5 so I can keep up with the local emergency services traffic. I am going to assume most LEO have been encrypted, any input from the forum?

Much has gone away on the LE side. Some FD traffic is MCT, a FD tactical channel is encrypted, and the VHF channels are pretty open. Ambo traffic is mostly city now, with some private companies backfilling needs.

Traffic is terrible in the 'West's most Mid-Western Town'. Prices are too. The weather isn't insane yet.

Good luck.

You'd probably like to program in the K deck channels. It has everything EMS and TRT related.

LE is pretty much encrypted but Fire uses the RWC trunked radio system for EMS and other non hazard radio traffic and the VHF channels for Fire Hazard traffic (SCBA needed) but they are in the clear. There is 1 or 2 encrypted channels on the trunked radio system for TLO related traffic but most of what you want to hear is available.
