I have been testing 2 seperate programs to decode voice inversion being used by a local towing company. I find the Invert program sounds far better than the Voice Descrambler program by IZ8BLY. I found you have to right click Invert and set the compatibility to Win95 (Im using XP), once I did that the program became more stable and the high pitched whine went away. Anybody else have tips or other software to decode voice Inversion?

I always had good luck with Invert which I used until I went with a separate hardware type unit. I was using it on a windows 98 machine at the time. It was a bit of a resource hog if I remember correctly but worked quite well.

You guys in the USA might want to think before posting a reply to that question. The person asking is in Canada where it is legal to do what he wants. Not so in the USA under the strictest interpretation of the ECPA.

Nothing like confessing to such activity in public and all that.

Well, to cover the all the legal bases...... for the record I was using it to re-invert a signal I was transmitting.

Is there anything special I need to do with my soundcard when using Invert?

Or can I just plug my scanner (BC246T) into the mic of my computer and fire up the program?

Thanks,
JRed

In your soundcard properties you need to check the line tab in the Record properties and mute the line in in the playback propeties. You will then have to fine tune the audio while people are talking by adjusting the frequency in the decoder software and volume of your scanner until you get the desired results.
