I had a very strong channel at 0030 GMT at freq 9925 (playing music). Was this Voice of Croatia? (most of my listings list it starting at 0100 GMT) I could not confirm the station due to a thunder storm that rolled in and thus I followed the standard procedure of turning off my radio and disconnecting all my radio stuff.

Whatsup Z-I have it on for the last 10 mins..best I can give you is they played music right up to the top of the hour then broke speech, which has a Russian or slavic flavor so you probably are correct. My list doesn't jive either but as Mike the mod, ka3jjz always warns, they change up so often that the lists hardly keep up.
Where are you Z-wondering because the signal is not too good here in Norcal.

I am on the NC/Tenn/Va Border region of North Carolina. I am about 3000 above Sea level. ( Post storm my I can still hear it clearly on my hand held, but its now "pulsing" and has a fair bit of hum static. Since they are talking and not music, I will be switching over to radio Havana or something that music and or English.

(if your a Google earth user, my approx location is Lat: N 3625.9 Long: W 08125.2)

According to the NASWA spreadsheet (updated 3 days ago), this is more likely to be WRMI Miami doing a relay of Voice of Croatia via World Radio Network. Schedule shows that they have this freq 0000-0500 UT.

The spreadsheet can be had from here;

S H O R T W A V E S T U F F

You will need a good unzipper program (7-Zip, WinZip, WinRAR, etc.) and a program to read spreadsheets (Excel, Open Office, etc.) to read this file.

Yes, it is the Voice of Croatia/Croatian Radio (Glas Hrvatske) on 9925 kHz. They have a great signal into the upper midwest in the evenings. I believe they use a transmitter in Germany beaming towards the U.S. They identify at the top & bottom of the hours.

They generally have news in Croatian at h+00 to h+15, and h+30 to h+45. Music from the last 15 mins of the periods.

News in English from 0200-0215Z and in Spanish from 0230-0245Z. Sometimes less news and more music.

Been listening to them for quite a while and love the music.

They're on 2200-0300Z to the U.S.:

(had to put it in quotes as the [] in the URL messes with the link in the post)

Thanks for confirming that, the music is not bad, though the talk since i do not speak the language is not as entertaining :)

My bad- that's what I get for looking at code all day. 9925 is V of Croatia - 9955 is WRMI Miami

I don't speak Croatian either, but I don't mind as I like the music. They're one of the few stations that plays a lot of music these days. Also kinda biased as my heritage is part Croatian. Wish that mattered in learning a language by only listening and putting no work into it. ;)

But, I don't let that stop me from listening to stations all over. Last weekend, picked up North Korea. They were very weak and in Korean. But still fun to catch the station.

Yeah my feeling exactly on the mere catch of the signal. That to me is most of the fun. Hell, voice of korea's English is so atrocious and the audio is so muffly that I can only get a third of what they say anyway...but getting that raw signal all the way from the opposite face of Earth is the cool thing.
