Voice Squelch and HF Scanning on AOR AR-8600 MkII

Question for the group, I am looking at a AR-8600 MkII for use scanning a small group of HF Utility frequencies using voice squelch. Has anybody done this successfully? what kind of channel scan speed do you see? How well does the voice squelch work? I see the AR-DV1 has a few more settings for noise and voice squelch, Is the AR-DV1 a better option? I wont use its digital features. Thanks for your input.

Scanning of HF frequencies has always been a bit iffy, I used to own an AOR8600MkII but never tried this, for VHF / UHF, it was great.
