Scanner and Train Nerd
Are there any programs that can translate voice from a scanner into text? Ideally I would like it to monitor for keywords and send me alerts via text/email when it detects them.

Dragon Dictate?
Dragon Dictate software might work if the audio is clear enough for the computer and microphone. If not a discriminator tap might work in the scanner itself.
I have not used this software for anything coming out of a radio though. Only direct dictation into a microphone. If I can find my software, I will try this.

This is an interesting idea. I searched and searched and all I could find was iPad and iPhone apps that could send the E-mail, but that requires user input. If I had some C++ skills I could make an app that could do it though. Maybe when I'm through with watching computer science courses from Harvard I will be able to write an app. LOL!
