I have a question is the sds100 loud or louder than the apx radio

It's got okay volume for a consumer scanner but not even close to the volume punch that a commercial grade radio would have, not even close to my apx7000.

I agree - "real" radios are going to have much louder volume because they are expected to be functional in high noise environments like fire scenes.

It all boils down to what the intended uses are - scanners for home listening, radios for noisier places.
