VSP/STARS and new BCD436HP

All,

Using the RS 800mhz antenna, I have no issues monitoring STARS from inside my home. However, in my vehicle I am hardly picking up any transmissions. Anyone else in VA having this issue?

I don't have experience with the 436, but I do have problems on STARS with my PSR500 in a vehicle if it is not connected to an external antenna. I believe it's the nature of a VHF digital system.

Same here, I just do not get STARS while driving unless I have it hooked up to an external.

I use a telescoping antenna on my PRO-18 and while there are dead spots, I can often get decent reception on STARS.

I think that goes back to what tglendye wrote about STARS being VHF so a telescopic antenna would probably work. I just use an 800 mz rubber duck because here in NVA, everything is 800 mz (except STARS)
