VX-6 Stuck in Memory Mode

For some reason, I can't get my VX6 to go into VFO mode. If I hit the V/M key, nothing happens and it stays in the memory mode. If I reset the entire radio, everything goes back to normal, but when I re-upload all my saved channels, everything is stuck in Memory mode again.

Anyone know what is causing this and how I fix it?

Quote from Page 38 of the manual:

"To place the radio into the Memory Only mode, turn the radio off. Now, press and hold in
the [V/M(DW)MT] key while turning the radio on. To return to normal operation, repeat
the above power-on procedure."

What software are you using to program the radio? Is there a setting somewhere in the software that is for setting the radio to memory-only mode?

Thanks Bob... I'll give that a shot. I'm using VX6-Commander.

I did get it to work normally again by going back to one of the older memory saves that I had in commander. It must save something in the settings that get's written back. I'm going to load the offending items though and then give your method a try and see if that does the trick. Hopefully it should.
