Question on the Vertex VX-6000. Using the very last PF key (Have no idea how this radio was programmed) which quick touch changes brightness of display, hold button and changes display to Channel 001, 002, etc. Seems like a scan list editor? If not, how do I edit the scan list in this radio w/o the software?

I take it you do not have the users manual? I do not belive this radio will allow you to edit the scan list with out the program.

Typically the one who programmed it, programmed one of the "PF" button keys to "toggle scan on/off". Now when you (push & hold) that same button key, it will toggle the (per channel) scan on or off.

i.e. you are on Channel 5. You push & hold the scan button, the LCD display will say "SCAN STOP", that means that channel IS in the scan list, it' will scan this channel. If you push & hold it again, it will then say "SCAN SKIP", meaning it will Not scan this channel. and this works on a per channel basis.

unless the one who programmed it disabled the scan set feature (i.e. dealer scan) -vs- user scan (which allows the user to set the scan settings on a per channel basis.
