VX-6R issue

Just got a new VX-6R Transciever as a gift. Great radio. I have one issue. I am unable to get it to go to 220 mhz for repeater use. Per the manual, it is supposed to get the 220 mhz spectrum. It says that the spacing is 1.6 mhz. The radio is in Auto Repeater step mode and it will automatically place 2m or UHF in a "-" or "+" shift when a frequency is plugged in. But it will not do it for 220. I can manually force it to go "-" or '+" for 220 but the spacing only allows for 1.5 mhz.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this a known issue, or do I have a Russian version of this radio? HELP?

You might just want to set up the 220 band repeaters as odd splits(manual pg34).

It might not show a + or - for 220 because the standard offset is -1.6mhz

It is a nice little radio. I use mine mainly for the FM sats and have about 25 odd splits programmed.

I did just program in a 220 repeater(224.660) and tone, it shows a negative offset and after pressing the HM/RV button it displays 223.060 as it should

I am very interested in replacing my vx-5r with a vx-6 and I'm shopping around for the best price. Can you tell me where you bought yours and how much? I'm not tryin be to be nosy,but I've been looking at specs and reading reviews on the vx-6 and some say that the receiver is hotter than that of the vx-7 and doesn't have the intermod of it either.
