You can use Win500, Arc500, or PSRedit. You pays your money and takes your choice. It seems the favorite is Win500. You can try all three for free in a limited capacity.
Programmed but not receiving
I managed to use Win500 to upload the frequencies I wanted to the w1040, but I only hear a very few of them, even though I know there is activity as !can see/hear it on Broadcastify. HELP

I'm using the Butel software first-I'm going to try the demos before trying. The scanner is great-its in good condition. The only question I have is the first seven scan lists are conventional and the eighth is the states trunked p25 system. will it scan all eight lists if the first seven are conventional and the last is p25 only?

Yes, if a scan list is enabled it will be scanned.
FYI: You can place (enable) any object (Conventional Frequency or Trunk System Talk Group) into none, one or all scan lists. It's very flexible.
As an example, one of my local scan lists, Cuyahoga Valley was all analog vhf. One community joined a local P25 trunk system. I was able to select that communities Talk Groups and add them to the Cuyahoga Valley scan list.
Be sure to take advantage of the software's 30 trial period. Try several of the programs. My favorite is WIN500, very easy to use and understand.
