The past couple of days, I'm unable to monitor anything from Wake Co. - PD, Fire, Sheriff. Complete silence. However, I have no problem with VIPER Statewide, which is the only other digital system I have programmed.
(BCD996P2)
I have the same scanner, and while I have no problems hearing Raleigh PD and Cary Fire(I live in western Cary), EMS dispatch is very garbled.

I have a Uniden BCD536HP. Scanning was fine until this week. Seems there are all new Talk Group Ids now. My scanner was originally programmed years ago with a friend helping me. Now, I am trying to fly solo with no luck. I downloaded ProScan to update the Talk Groups but still nothing. First tried changing the Talk Group Ids for WSO but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Or, point me to a doc that would step me through programming the BCD536HP. Thanks.

Did you create a new system for Wake County? While the Mot. Smartzone Type II is still being used. They are steadily migrating over to Cary/Wake25: Cary/Wake P25 Trunking System, Cary, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies

I have both on my BCD325p2. I also have a Registered version of Proscan. The only consistent activity still on the old system, is on the analog part of the system. There are a few digital channels on the 'old' system still in use. But, They will be switched over to the new system.

Thanks for the reply! No, I did not create a new system for Wake County. I used ProScan to read the data from the scanner. I changed the VIPER category from Motorola to P25 Trunk after reading thru the conversations. Then, scrolled down and changed the Talk Group Ids under WC Sheriff Dept. to what were posted. Wrote this back to the scanner and started Id Scanning. But, nothing.

Where Wake County is concerned. VIPER, Apart from the Sheriff's Office, is a backup.

Specifically, I have 2 Systems that are scanned: VIPER and Town Of Cary. VIPER was defined as Motorola. I changed this to P25 Trunk. Are you saying I need to create a new System and name it Wake County. Then, define it as P25 Trunk. Then, add Site Names and Department Names to the new System based on the new Talk Group Ids? I see Site Names and Department Names under VIPER.

Again, I have had the scanner since 2014 and a friend helped me get the scanner working back then but am basically new to programming it like you gurus can. Thanks for your patience!

yes you need to reprogram the wake system with new control channels, new tgs and as a P25 system.

VIPER has been P25 for years. It is up to the individual counties. As to whether will be Primary, or not.

Wake County was Motorola Smartzone Type II for some time. While, The Town of Cary: Cary/Wake P25 Trunking System, Cary, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies. Was Motorola Type II Smartnet. So, P25 is an upgrade for both.

This is probably a MP and not a YP...

But I had my Win500 program connect to the RR database today (10-30-21) to grab a fresh update. Changing nothing in the settings (other than changing the default target list from 'unassigned' to 1); I'm now getting the dreaded 'nothing enabled' when my Pro-106 reboots and begins scanning. Using a saved .p500 file from two days ago works correctly. Again... I'm sure it's my user error. But if this rings a bell for any of the powers-that-be; so be it. I'll check the other threads re: 'nothing enabled' for more troubleshooting. Just reporting what I believe to be a change.

I've attached two screenshots showing the change. #29 is from 10-29-21 and #30 is from today (10-30-21).

Carry on.

Create a new system, p25, Wake County and add it. I’d also delete the old system.

The Control Channels are the #'s in RED. The Alternate Control Channels are in BLUE.
