I own a 436 and I would like to ask, what is the maximum Volts, Wattage, Amps can a individual use on recharging the time and date, of the A/C wall plug if used. Maybe the unit only takes what it needs then it stops charging? I really don't want to fry the radio up, and I don't want to keep my computer on for 50 hours, so does anybody have advice on what can be used and not be used? Appreciate the help.

Any USB charger with the appropriate plug. Unit will only draw what it can take. USB is 5 volts, probably 500 milliamp per USB spec 1.0.

436 Wall plug

On the AC line I use a 5V - 1A adapter plug for my 436; the radio display shows "charge complete" when the batteries are fully charged. I've never used the computer USB port to charge the batteries, just to power the scanner while programming with Sentinel. I have the battery option for the 436 set to 5 hrs.

Actually, based on your post, the display shows "charge complete" after 5 hours (likely the batteries are not fully charged at that point, as it takes 12-14 hours to fully recharge the batteries if they are substantially depleted.
