There is nothing they can do to you or the scanner.

They can ask you to leave, but they could do that anyhow.

That would be petty larceny if they just took it, and assault if they touched you in taking it. Rent-a-cops are just people in funny looking clothes, they're not cops. And you're not breaking any laws by listening to Wal-Mart, so even a cop wouldn't do any more than ask you what you were listening to.

First of all Wall Mart can't do anything to you if you transmit on their frequency, since they don't have a license for any frequency and they use MURS freqs, you can talk to them legally.

This could be fun and mischevious. Convince them you're a manager and order them to do something ie. "we need a clean up on aisle 4". And then you could make aisle 6, etc...Have them running all over the place.

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
Hold on there a minute Bubba...

Wallyworld certainly CAN ask you to leave the store for ANY reason. It's their property, if they want you gone you must go or it's trespassing and that most certainly CAN get you arrested.

Will they do that to you for just listening? Unlikely. But start playing manager and sending employees on wild goose chases and it's a good bet you'll be asked to leave the property permanently.

I've been asked before by customers and employees if I was a manager because I was listening to them and I always say no. Besides if you want to have some real fun, HERE is what you do:

Find a pack of suspicious looking kids and follow them around with the scanner turned up. I did that once and one of the kids saw me staring him down, ditched some CD's he had stashed in his pants, yelled out "Rent a cop! Bail!" and the whole pack of 'em bolted for the door, right into the waiting arms of security. Now THAT was funny! When the security guys found out what made them run they thought it was hilarious. "You ran because you saw HIM? He doesn't work here!"

The stolen stuff was recovered and they were all trespassed and had to be picked up by Mom or Dad. Lucky for them they were juvies and they ditched the loot, otherwise the next stop would have been jail for them.

Try it sometime, it's a blast! And believe it or not, the security guys usually appreciate the help.

Dude,

Chill out. For one thing, I could care less about how I'm looked at by others. Who cares? And besides, it's just Wal-Mart for Christ's sake! Nothing major. Take a valium or something.

I with my wife and mom-in-law the other day at Wally World. Let me give you a little background on good ole’ mom. She is about a million years old and she has been falling a lot at home. The other day she tripped over her own shadow. My wife said that she will have to call the FD if she falls when she is home alone with her because of mom’s size. Mom is so big instead of sending one engine they would need a regular alarm. That would freak me out if a heard it on the scanner. We were at Wally’s the other and I heard them page a “Code White” in the area of the store that I am in. Sure enough it is mom sitting on the floor and the clerks not letting her get up incase she is hurt. So for those of you wondering a “Code White” is an “overturned mother-in-law”.

Geeze, if you are going to set up a "Slip and Fall" case, at least hit a high-end store so you can collect a decent amount! :)

walmart rent a cop

In my neck of the woods most retail store security are off duty certified law enforcement officers trying to put a few more beans and potatoes on the table..... Though there is a few "security guards" that provide this service but they are too busy with thier diet cokes and twinkies too really care. but everyone has to make a living so be it... and why would you want to listen to walmart anyway get a life
