Walz & His New Plane Arrives in Detroit Tomorrow

Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., Governor Tim Walz will arrive at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Detroit, Michigan, aboard the new livery of N629NP for the final month of the campaign. He will deliver remarks at a campaign event in Macomb County, Michigan.

I'm sure there will be plenty of comms to monitor as the motorcade moves from the airport to the event site. Recent reports out of the west coast had a USSS radio in the clear on MIKE.

Back in the 70's and 80's we would listen for them making phone patches to other people. I did catch GRF on 8 MHz once. We could listen to SS comms when they were moving the VIP's through the city. Today everything is through SATCOM and SS/Feds are 100% encrypted. Those were the days.

Just by coincidence I was staying at the Intercontinental in LA the week before and that candidate happened to be arriving later that day.
