I already have a Realistic (RS) Pro 2006, which does get the FM Broadcast band...

A lot of them do. 396xt, 996xt, 325p2, 996p2, 436, 536, 996T, and many others. Not sure I would bother listening to FM broadcast on a scanner when I can listen to a much cheaper better sounding FM stereo radio.

Agree 100% In fact didn't even know that scanners had fm broadcast. And I have used the newer ones for 20 years. But I seldom if ever listen to AM or FM broadcast. In Alberta most AM is talk shows, FM is taped music. Any news is old, and my generation gap means so called music is noise as I can't understand what is said. I only listen to AM for the football games. Although not scanners, almost all CCR have FM broadcast. They are cheap. I have listened to FM once on a CCR. Would much prefer they had air AM instead.

The reason I like the Pro-2006, and want to explore other capable scanners is:

1)...To listen to my FM radio station, to make sure we're still on the air, and have 12 VDC power in case grid power goes down.

2)...To put in a camper shell, to scan as usual, & listen to FM b'cast.

While I can still use a Pro-2006 to cover these needs very well, as I plan out limited shelf space in the camper shell, I want to explore other capable radios....desk top type (not hand held) but smaller than the Pro-2006..?
