Hi. I was wondering what i should listen to to hear some unprofessional talk or private chit chat. I live in DE. If anyone know what DE system talkgroups i should listen to tell me. Doesnt have to be in DE, i'll appriciate nationwide frequencies too.

my favorites

I am nowhere near Delaware but, I have found some gems while searching over the years. Just put some time in searching if no one makes any specific suggestions. Gems are out there you just have to find yours.Search the FCC database by zip code and look for something obscure and give it a try. Here are my current favorites.

United Airlines (generally 460.7250) if you are very near a UAL served airport. Listened in many cities and seem to have alot of pranksters at work all the time. At OAK several years ago there was some kind of prank played with a dog kennel and some manner of fish one rainy nite, never figured that one out but they had alot of fun with it. No one wanted to clean it up and it delayed push back because the could not 'close the door that way' - I presume cargo door. Still wonder about this one.

A local heavy equipment repair shop that specializes in large earth moving stuff, graders and the like. They have had an 'apprentice' over the past few months who sounds like he is a toothless hillbilly and 75 years old on the radio. They send him over the radio to get parts for guys working in thier yard: reverberation nails for a vasilator, ether shims, Bolt Coil lube and a 22.75mm ratchet.....when the 'apprentice' figures out he is getting done he gets pi**ed pff and cusses like i have never heard ever before. my scanner actually smokes when this guy goes off. Great stuff.

I know what you mean about the airports
I know that up here at Schenctady airport or ALB the guys use 152.390 and they are very unprofessional. its really odd because i'm at least 5 miles from the airports as the crow flies and I believe their using portables but maybe there in a high powered repeater

You could try FRS/GMRS. But you need to be close to hear that and around here atleast its usually just some stupid little kids playing with radios saying "over" about every 2 seconds.

"UNprofessional" radio?????

Welllllllllll,

If you want to hear "UN-professional" radio, you might listen to Don Imus, Howard Stern, The Bob & Tom Show, Wolf Blitzer, those "pirates" on 3.872 mhz (faked calls, if given and deliberate interference), 27.185 mHz (Channel 19), and MOST National TV News Broadcast, (Lou Dobbs, Glen Beck, and FOX News the exception). Oh, while you're at it don't read a newspaper, or any National magazine, well, "Mother Earth News" is OK.

Take up organic gardening, go fishing, play with your kids, kiss your wife more, do something nice for someone in need (cut a older persons yard), pickup roadside trash, buy from local stores instead of "Peking-Mart". In other words, get out and LIVE Life and quit wanting to listen to filth & garbage, less you become *one of THEM*, LOL! There's enough of *THEM* out there.

Respectfully submitted,
73,

Look to see if there are any repo companies you can listen to in your area. The usual is a lot of cursing and highly inappropriate comments, but it makes for fun monitoring. It's probably not a stretch to say that you might be able to hear similar usage by repo companies in your area.

And the poster above saying that the exception to unprofessional broadcasting is Fox news, your absolutely right. They take their emulation of Pravda as an organ of the republican party very seriously.

Try listening to the popular UHF business band itinerant freqs. These are the freqs that the "business bubble pack" radios use. Motorola has several models and Kenwood has the ProTalk line of radios.

Try these:

464.5000
464.5500
467.7625
467.8125
467.8500
467.8750
467.9000
467.9250

These are the 8 most popular freqs. 464.5500 is probably the busiest and most abused freq. It's the factory default freq in Motorola's CLS series portables (CLS1110, CLS1410). I've heard restaurant staff on this freq and using these radios and using the factory default PL of 67.0Hz. They just turn the radios on and use them right out of the box. They probably also have no clue that a LICENSE is required to legally transmit with these radios. Motorola appears to be using the bubble pack marketing approach to sell the low end business band portables.

I keep these freqs in my scanners at all times. You never know who will show up on these freqs, licensed or otherwise. They get busy whenever I'm driving through a busy retail district.

Good luck.

Scan you local business band. I enjoy the school bus companies before and after school looking for lost back packs, lost kids, or bus fights. I'm always going to bicycle races and I turn on my HT scanner during the Pro. races searching the FRS frequencies. There's usually one team on there talking with the riders as they race, talking tactics or giving pep talks - "You can do it!" or "I GOT A FLAT!!" Lastly, there is a bike messenger service in our city thats interesting to listen to as well.

Have some fun at their expense. When you hear them, give them a call and tell them that the radio police are on the way to take away their radios and that they will be arrested.

Yes indeed. School bus companies are great to listen to. One company in my area(Milwaukee WI.) used to have really foul language on the part of drivers that would make some CB users blush plus just alot of childish banter. They must have clamped down on it because there is very little of it now. There is still alot of interesting material to monitor. With all of the money we spend on public schools, you would think that these "educated" people could make sure the kids get on the RIGHT bus at the end of the day.

The kid would probably come back with a smartass remark. However, if momma hears the voice of an adult male stranger attempting to make contact with that little darling (who just told you to f- off), you can guarantee that the real police will shortly be pulling up in front of their house.

This is especially inadvisable if the roof of your house is covered with antennas.

When it comes to unprofessional operations in my neck of the woods, the top of my list would have to be all the squabling in middle eastern accents I hear on 151.855 (not a typo). All the cab companies replaced the cb's they used to use with this unlicensed invalid step, used at the airport.

That would be fun! "This is John Smith, from the Radio Compliance Agency. You are in violation of Section 9 subsection A of the US Radio Penal Code. We've triangulated your position, and you have 10 seconds to stop transmitting or we will take you into custody and confiscate your equipment." Hehehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!!!!!!!
