After scouring the Internet it seems like I’m asking for too much but I am in the market for an SDS 100 with a modded integrated GPS that a person on here custom builds if anyone currently owns one or knows someone that does and is ready to part with it please dm me, thanks.

For that, I'd DM @jonwienke . He's the go-to guy for that and whatever else you need for your SDS100. I bought a BNC adapter and a new battery latch for my SDS100 from him, and were both great!

The internal GPS is the way to go. Jon put mine in over a year ago. It works great. On the road now, I usually use the SDS200. With sufficient power (at least 2A), you can use the 100 and still keep the battery charged. On a journey from Michigan to Georgia, I once used the 100 with GPS and the battery was still full charged when the peach trees came into view.

jon has been "out of pocket" recently. His girlfriend has had some serious medical issues, so his time doing modifications & creating the battery cover latches, as well as posting on the forums, has been much more limited than usual. See one of the posts from another thread regarding this.

I agree, I was a bit worried about the battery usage doing this mod even though I plan on having a spare battery but figured I can always carry an external battery pack like a mophie if the power usage drains fast.
