So I wasn't sure if I should post this in the Uniden Tech forum, or here in the RI local forum... but this one wins for the moment. Anyone with a Uniden SDS150 hearing an occasional "buzzsaw" noise when monitoring Warwick PD Ch. 2 (453.8250)?
It's not encryption, as I can hear the conversation underneath the buzzing noise and it usually clears up after the transmissions cease. The dispatcher and officers seem to talk right through it, so I don't think it's an issue with the actual police systems, but instead something to do with the scanner itself. This never seemed to occur with my SDS100, and only after moving on to the '150 have I heard this. It never happens on their primary frequency, nor have I heard it with other agencies - it only seems to be that one frequency. It's almost like something is out of sync or not locking into the frequency correctly...
Be it with Warwick or other conventional systems, has anyone encountered something similar?
Thanks!
