Hello. I’m looking for clarification on a few things and hoping that someone will help. If you go to the link below (Michigan public safety system), and scroll down the page, you’ll see a category named “Statewide Aeronautical Medical Talkgroups”

Here are my questions:

1) Is that one whole talk group or is each line part of separate a talk group?
2) I don’t see a talk group ID. How can I locate the specific group IDs?
3) How do I program these in to my Whistler TRX1 by using the scanner - not program software.

Yes. I read the manual and watched videos. I also looked through forums on here and went to alternative websites however, I’m not good with using this scanner or understanding the whole frequency thing.
I haven’t been on here in months because I haven’t used the scanner....at all. Learning this is far worse than writing and defending a dissertation and I’m not joking :) Maybe I shouldn’t be so nosy???

Thanks (again) and I hope you all have a good day.

In the below example you see DEC / HEX These represent the same thing. This is the Talk Group you will listen to.
You need to use the programming software. First thing you always do with a new scanner. Install the software. Then check for firmware updates for the scanner. Then update the mater database as things change over time.
Next someone else will have to help with as i dont own a TRX scanner and dont want to give you bad info.

You will have to scan that system until you find that talk group, then you input that data into ezscan or you can go to your state forum here at RR and ask in there if someone has already logged it.

Huh? I didn’t understand any of that. Like I said, I’m not getting this stuff but thank you anyway. Thanks for reaching out.

PS: Hi Thunderbolt. Do you remember me? LOL

I didn't know there was a Michigan forum. I posted my inquiry there as well. Thanks for the info :)

I just wanted to write in a rainbow because it's so cool. Ignore.

I do not know how to program a Whistler as I do not own one but...
If you go back to the “Statewide Aeronautical Medical Talk-groups” or any of the departments on the MPSCS and hover your mouse over either the "DEC" (Decimal format for scanners) or the "HEX" (Hexadecimal format for Motorola radios) wording at the top you will see a pop up that explains those are in fact the talk-groups ID's. So saying all that in one breath, each line is a different talk-group.

Hope this helps??

Normal scanning may now resume...

First, thank you. I sincerely appreciate your help. Second, yes - you were able to answer one of the questions I had. I did hover over the sections you suggested and I saw the information that was there but wasn’t sure how it related to my inquiry. Now that I know that each line is a different talk group, that helps me to narrow a few things down.
Oh, I’d also like to hear the National Guard helicopter but will check into that later. Furthermore, I’ll be more cognizant of the special features on the RR pages.
